Group Financial Controller

Job Description

Job Title: Group Financial Controller
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director
Location: 76 Cookstown Industrial Estate, Dublin 24

Summary

Impact Ireland (Metals) Ltd is looking to engage an experienced Group Financial Controller to join our Senior Leadership Team and to lead the company in best practice financial standards and practices. The main responsibilities of the role are to ensure that the Groups goals and objectives are achieved through the optimal contribution of the Finance Department in the areas of financial control, working capital management, compliance, reporting and supporting the Board of Directors.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Tasks:

  • Preparation and presentation of Monthly Management Financial Reports in a timely and correct manner to Directors, Managers and External Stakeholders
  • All aspects of Financial Staff Management
  • Financing, Working Capital & Cashflow Management
  • Ensuring Revenue compliance & liaising with tax advisors
  • Acting as Company Secretary
  • Preparation, presentation and finalization of Annual Accounts, within agreed timescales, in consultation with the Auditors
  • Supporting the development, implementation and update of the Strategic Plan for Group
  • Supporting the development and implementation of a corporate philosophy that reflects best practice in people management, optimal processes, defined operating procedures and conformance
  • Contribution to the Senior Leadership Team/Board of Directors on all operational financial implications of budgets, plans, management decisions and optimisation of results
  • Advising and supporting the Directors, the Board and Departmental Managers on all aspects of Finance for the optimal operation of the business
  • Effectively leading a finance team through performance management and stretching of personal goals
  • Any other relevant duties, including ad hoc projects that may arise from time to time

Key deliverables:

  • Monthly Management Accounts, including Cashflow Projections, will be presented to the Directors within agreed timeframes
  • Strategic Plan, delivery of our strategic plans in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors
  • Annual Accounts, together with appropriate schedules and documentation, will be prepared and presented to the Auditors for completion of audits within agreed deadlines
  • Annual Budgets, will be developed, agreed and used as a basis of comparison with Actual for Departmental Managers and Directors for each month
  • Process and Systems, in line with Corporate objectives to review, define and develop enhancements that will reduce non-value-added activities and progress Impact Ireland (Metals) Ltd towards Best in Class
Qualifications
  • 3rd Level education in Finance / Financial accountant
  • Professional accreditation – ACCA, ACA or CPA
Experience
  • At least 10-15 year’s post qualification experience in financial management
  • Demonstrable leadership skills
  • Demonstrable experience of leading change and large scale financial projects
  • Previous experience with distribution business is valuable but not essential
