Impact Ireland (Metals) Ltd are Ireland’s premier multi-metal stockholder, distributor and trader of high-quality metals and engineering plastics. We are celebrating our 50th anniversary this year. The company has over eighty employees, three regional sales locations and specialist international and engineering plastics sales departments. 

As Sales Director, the successful candidate will report to the Managing Director. They will work with the Senior Management Team and the Company Board of Directors to develop and drive future growth and stability of the Group. They will provide leadership, guidance, management and development of the current and future sales departments. They will be responsible for the sales strategy and implementation that will meet the company’s sales growth expectations and business objectives both in Ireland and internationally. The Sales Director will be based in our Dublin HQ and will work closely with the regional offices in Cork and Belfast to expand market ownership and maximise customer engagement, satisfaction and retention.

Deliverables & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage go-to-market sales strategies, leveraging the company’s current dominant position in the market and extensive client base.
  • To successfully enter and grow new markets and increase existing customer cross-sell while analysing and reacting to market conditions, including competition, pricing, and customer trends, to achieve the Group’s goals.
  • Develop and provide sales forecasting, including pulse short-term, medium- and long-term outlook, account and business reviews in all vertical markets.
  • Work with our Finance Department to develop and deliver profit targets and to manage sales expense budgets.
  • Work closely with sales management and our marketing consultants to develop a company CRM system to manage customers and the sales team. Future-proofing sales operations, enhancing sales growth and utilising CRM reports and tools to monitor sales efforts, failures, and successes, including live dashboards for senior management updates.
  • Oversee successful recruitment of high-quality and proven Sales Representatives, including induction, continuous training, and performance evaluations.
  • To develop an environment to attract, hire, develop and motivate sales individuals and teams capable of exceeding sales quotas.
  • Work with the senior sales team and our marketing agents to develop sales and marketing strategies and campaigns, including customer visits, exhibitions, product promotions, email marketing, website promotions, online advertising, and social media exposure.
  • Monitoring and managing the senior sales team and their respective team member’s sales activities and pipelines to ensure the achievement of business performance.
  • Continuously develop their understanding of our markets, materials, services, customers, and competitors.
  • Work closely with our purchasing department to source, choose and retain price market leaders in our supply chain.
  • Identifying market opportunities, analysing and scope new market opportunities that will create a high return on investment.
  • Ensuring all sales staff fulfil their obligation to consistently following up assigned sales leads and develop new sales leads whilst developing and nurturing current accounts to increase their value and maximise all sales potential.
  • Representing the Company at conferences, trade fairs and networking events
  • Provide any other Senior Management or Sales related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Analytical, detailed, and results-focused, the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate how their previous work increased sales and customer engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to talk to all departments and personnel on their respective levels.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills.
  • Up-to-date computer skills, including knowledge of sales and finance software and expertise in CRM systems, spreadsheets, presentations, and database management.
  • Excellent Commercial ability and has knowledge of the workings of Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Working Capital.
  • Leadership and management skills, demonstrating creativity and the ability to adapt their approach to best suit the role and motivate the existing team.
  • Excellent negotiation, planning and forecasting skills, the ability to lead by example and inspire those skills in the sales team.
  • Always represent the company professionally and courteously.
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Have a proven track record in all the above.
This is a full-time permanent roll based in our Dublin Headquarters.
Salary package will be commensurate with experience
